I think my next car will be a serial electric hybrid that goes 100 miles on battery only....then the engine kicks in.  Actually, 50 miles per charge is more than enough to get me to and from work.  We Americans have been squandering fuel since the 1960s becauee we like big cars....I like my Grand Cherokee, but it only does 16mpg in town and 21 highway.  I don't need the room just to go to work and back.  Maybe there's a CNG conversion for the Jeep... check out pickensplan.com .
